Cleanups around Orchard Park

Fall in Orchard Park means leaves, and lots of them. They land on the lawn, blow into the beds and pile up against the foundation, and they keep coming for weeks. Left on the grass over winter, a wet mat of leaves smothers it.
Spring brings its own mess. Plow piles leave sand and grit along the driveway, branches come down in storms, and last year's perennials are still standing in the beds.
A cleanup resets the yard. We clear the leaves and debris, clean out and edge the beds, cut back what needs it and bring shrubs back into shape. Before we leave, we walk the property to make sure it is finished. Our spring and fall cleanups page covers the full list.
What you get is a clean yard going into winter, or a fresh start in spring, without the weekends of raking.

Cleanups in Orchard Park: what to know
Fall cleanup in Orchard Park, NY: timing
Most people call once the leaves are down, and that is exactly when schedules fill. Booking in September or early October gets you a spot. If your trees drop late, we can plan a second pass to catch the rest.
A fall visit cuts back perennials and ornamental grasses, trims overgrown shrubs and clears the beds before snow arrives. If you want to handle part of it yourself, use our fall cleanup checklist.
How Orchard Park leaf and brush pickup works
The Town of Orchard Park Highway Department runs loose leaf collection from October into May, separate from its monthly brush pickup. Leaf piles must be kept apart from brush piles. Brush goes at the roadside in an orderly pile, cut ends toward the street and off the pavement, by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your collection week.
In spring the town wants leaves at the curb before April 15, and grass clippings are not picked up. Brush and leaves can also go to the town composting facility on Milestrip Road on weekdays. Village residents should check with the Village of Orchard Park Department of Public Works. With our cleanups the debris is hauled away, so you do not have to work around the calendar.
Spring cleanups after an Orchard Park winter
Lake-effect snow and freeze-thaw cycles are hard on beds. By April, edges have slumped, mulch has thinned and shrubs may have branches broken by snow load.
A spring cleanup clears all of it, recuts the edges and leaves the beds ready for fresh mulch. If you had a fall cleanup, spring is usually lighter and faster. More of our Orchard Park work is on the Orchard Park landscaping page.

Questions about cleanups in Orchard Park
Not seeing yours? Call (716) 671-4971 and ask Patrick, or read the common questions.
When should I book a fall cleanup in Orchard Park?
September or early October. Once the leaves are down, schedules fill fast.
Do you take the leaves and debris away?
Yes. Debris from the cleanup is hauled away, so nothing has to sit at the curb waiting for town pickup.
Can you cut back my ornamental grasses in the fall?
Yes. Grasses and perennials are cut back as part of a fall cleanup. One recent fall job cleared a bed of overgrown grasses along a pool.
Can I book both a spring and a fall cleanup?
Yes. Many people book both each year, and some add regular landscape maintenance in between so the beds never get away from them.
